Si oui, vous savez que ce n’était pas un voyage de skate…mais que je n’ai pas pensé une seconde le laisser sècher dans mon locker!  Alors le vidéo se trouve un peu plus bas.

Si non, je vais vous en faire un bref résumé. Je suis partie de Montréal avec un itinéraire très incertain. Il s’est finalement concrétisé comme suit: j’ai atteri à Paris, pour ensuite prendre le train jusqu’à Lyon, en France.. De là, j’ai pris le train jusqu’à Milan, Italie, puisl’avion jusqu’à Berlin, Allemagne, pour finalement terminer ma course au paradis du skate, à Barcelone, en Espagne. Mon périple s’est terminé dans la magnifique ville de Paris. Ce n’était pas un skate trip, loin de là. Je suis partie pour un mois afin de visiter l’Europe étant donné que la dernière fois que j’avais traversé l’Atlantique, c’était pour aller à Barcelone et y skater intensément pendant 2 semaines. Je n’ai pas fait ma touriste assez à mon goût. C’est pourquoi cette fois, c’était plus du tourisme que d’autres choses. Mais vous devez quand même vous douter que mon skate était tout de même attaché serré à ma valise!

Donc voici le vidéo que j’ai pondu. Je vous rappelle qu’on avait pas apporté de caméra! C’est entièrement filmé avec une caméra photo. Un gros merci à YN pour le montage!!

Do you remember when I went to Europe last summer?

If you do, you already know that it was not supposed to be a skate trip…but that leaving my board at home was not an option! So I filmed a little bit and the footage is at the end of this post!

If you didn’t know or if you forgot, here’s a short resume of my trip.I left Montreal with an unsettled itinitary. It ended up this way: I landed in Paris. Then I took the train to Lyon, in France. From there, I got on the TGV train to Milan, in Italy. I stayed there for a day and then booked a flight to Berlin, Germany. I stayed there for 2 weeks. It’s the most beautiful city I have ever been to. I could really move there. Then, I left Berlin and flew to skater’s paradise, AKA Barcelona, in Spain. My trip ended where it started, in Paris. It really was not supposed to be a skate trip since last time I went to Europe, I only skated and did not go sightseeing or anything. So this trip was much more tourism than skating. I still came back home with a couple of new tricks on my pocket and this small montage. I did not have any camera so this was all filmed with a photo camera! Thanks to YN for the video!

Bon, je sais que c’est pas tellement le passé pour beaucoup de monde, mais je viens de retrouver mon premier promo vidéo! MAIS NON, ce n’est pas celui que j’avais poster sur le Forum Island et sur Info-Skate, NON! Celui-ci date de 2004. C’est pas si vieux, vous direz. Mais attendez de voir mon steez et ma coupe de cheveux avant de juger ma notion du temps!

Veuillez noter que mes nollie flips étaient mieux maitrisés en 2004 …et que le PARC AHUNTSIC IS FOREVER!

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! I just found my very first promo video!  And it’s not the one I posted on the Island Forum and on Info-Skate, NO! It’s older!! For a lot of people, 2004 seems so close to 2009, but it’s still 5 years behind. And wait until you see my steez and my haircut!!!! Hahaha!

Please note that my nollie flips were cleaner in 2004, and that AHUNTSIC PARK IS FOREVER!

Not so long ago, Annie Guglia rode the Pipe for the first time of her life. This summer, she spent enough time there to unlock her front side five-O’s (for those who’ve never seen the spot, I must tell you it’s quite a trick!) Keep on grinding Annie!

Voilà, ça fait déjà une semaine que je suis à Berlin. Croyez-moi, ça passe vite quand on s’amuse!
Toujours sur nos bicyk à pédales, on a conquérit Berlin au grand complet.

Here I am, after spending one week in Berlin. Time really flies when we’re having fun!
Still riding our bikes, we totally conquered Berlin.

C’est vrai que Berlin est devenue une ville hyper branchée pour ses clubs électros et son nightlife à tout casser. Je n’ai malheureusement pas profiter de mon séjour ici pour danser sur une colonne de son. Désolé!
Au lieu de nous adonner à des activités ordinaires berlinoises, on s’est fait une poutine avec de la sauce St-Hubert, du fromage turque et des frites allemandes!!! Vive la cuisine fusion!!

Berlin has became very hip with its electro clubs and its famous nightlife. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to go out and dance on a speaker. Sorry!
Instead of trying Berlin typical activities, we cooked poutine with St-Hubert sauce, Turkish cheese and German fries!!! I love fusion cuisine!

Un soir, on s’est joué une belle partie de pétanque!

One night, we went out to play pétanque!

Un autre soir, on est allé dans un bar ou tu payes 1 euro pour ton verre et tu as des refills de vins à volonté! À la fin de la soirée, tu donnes combien tu penses que ça vaut! Trop malade!!

Another night, we went to a bar where you pay 1 euro for an empty glass and you can get as many refills of wine as you want! Then, at the end of the night, you pay them what you think it was worth! So crazy!!

J’ai aussi skaté plus à Berlin que dans tout le reste du voyage. Entre autres, pour le Go Skateboarding Day, je suis allée skater dans une piscine TELLEMENT TIGHT qu’à première vue, j’osais même pas la dropper!
En l’honneur du GSD, j’ai aussi fait ce merveilleux wallride que j’ai intitulé THE WALLride pour son background historique.

During my trip, I skated more here than anywhere else. On Go Skateboarding Day, I skated a pool SO TIGHT that i wasn’t even willing to drop it at first sight.
On the same day, I aslo did a wallride that I called THE WALLride for its historical background.

Je pars aujourd’hui pour Barcelone,  prise 2! Je ne crois pas skater beaucoup là-bas. C’est plus un BEACH OR DIE trip! Mais je vais rencontrer Elysha Bastien demain qui, elle, a déménagée à Barcelone il y a quelques semaines.

Guten tag! (Bonjour en Allemand haha!)
Mon départ de Milan fût plutôt brutal. Réveil à 2 heure am, ride d’autobus jusqu’à la gare, shuttle jusqu’à l’aéroport, et finalement avion à 6 heure 45 en direction de Berlin. Je suis arrivée à 8heure 30 à Berlin avec déjà 6heures d’éveil dans le corps. Pas facile, surtout quand il faut déchiffrer de l’allemand!!!

My departure from Milan was a pretty brutal. Woke up at 2 am, rode the bus to the train station, took a shuttle to the airport and finally got on the plane to Berlin at 6:45 am. I’ve been awake for already 6 hours when I got to Berlin at 8:30 am.  That’s rough, especially when you need to decipher German!!!

Arrivée chez des amis, nous avons immédiatement plongé dans la culture germanique en dégustant un currywurst, plat typique de Berlin, un peu comme notre poutine nationale! Il s’agit d’une saucisse au curry ensevelie de ketchup et de mayonnaise. Miam miam!

As soon as we arrived at our friends house, we tasted the Germanic culture by trying a currywurst, a typical Berliner dish that reminded me of Montréal’s poutine! It’s made of a curry sausage burried in ketchup and mayo. Miam miam!

Ah oui, je dois aussi préciser que la bière ici, c’est légal partout à tout heure, voire même obligatoire à partir de 9h am. Et ça coûte 39cents la grosse!!!

Oh yeah, I must absolutely tell you that beer is legal at anytime in anywhere here. Even almost obligatory after 9:00 am… and it only costs 39 cents for a big one!!!

Bon revenons-en à nos moutons. J’ai donc visiter Berlin à vélo, gracieuseté du couple d’amis à Yanick qui nous héberge si gentiment. C’est incroyable à quel point cette ville regorge de bâtiments historiques, de musées et d’histoire.

Back to the story.  So I visited Berlin on a bike (courtesy of Yanick’s friends, who lodge us so nicely.) It’s unbelievable how the city abounds in historical buildings, museums and history.

Il est aussi important de mentionner que Berlin est la capitale punk. Il y a des tonnes de graffitis et de punkhouses qui illustre bien les tensions politiques qui sont toujours bien présentes à propos de l’holocauste, du mur de Berlin, et plus récemment de la crise économique!

It’s also important to mention that Berlin is the capital of punk. There’s tons of graffitis and punkhouses reflecting the political tensions about the holocaust, the wall of Berlin and the actual economic crisis.

Ah oui j’oubliais! J’ai aussi skaté à Berlin! Dans un beach-bar dirigé par des punks, il y avait une mini-rampe que je me suis fait un plaisir de skater.

Oh yeah, I also skated in Berlin! In a beach-bar runned by punks, there was a mini-ramp that I really enjoyed skating.

Je suis aussi allée faire quelques grinds et quelques flips au Kulturforum, un spot bien connu à travers le monde.

I also stopped by Kulturforum, a famous spot of Berlin, and tried a few grinds and flips.

En passant, j’ai seulement passé 3 jours ici, et j’ai l’impression d’avoir fait et vu tellement de choses!
Il me reste encore quelques jours à Berlin, alors à bientôt pour un nouveau post! YAAAA!

Je suis présentement en direct de Milano, Italia! (Bon, vous me direz que c’est pas la ville la plus Italienne qui soit mais quand même!!). Nous avons décidé de venir ici sur un coup de tête, vraiment. Armés du seul mot que je connaisse en Italien, c’est-à-dire Guglia (HAHAHA!), nous sommes arrivés ici hier soir, et nous repartons demain matin!

I am live from Milano, Italia right now!(you might think it’s not the most Italian city but…) We spontaneously decided to come here, armed with the only Italian word I know: Guglia (HAHAHA!) We got here last night and are leaving in the morning.

Vite fait, bien fait, notre journée à Milan c’est tout de même très bien déroulée. On a visité la ville au grand complet en quelque 5 heures seulement! Je vous jure que marcher plus que ça, tu meurs!! En plus, il devait faire au moins 30 degrés.

Although it was quick, our day in Milan went well. We visited the whole city in only 5 hours! I swear, if I walked more than I did, I would’ve die! Plus it was at least 30 degrees.

Notre vol pour Berlin est à 6 heure demain matin, et je peux vous dire que l’aéroport n’est pas à côté! Souhaitez-moi bonne chance!! Hahahaha! (Non non, je sais que je ne fais pas pitié ) À bientôt pour un nouveau post berlinois!

Bonjour tout le monde!

Paris est présentement chose du passé…  J’ai pris le train samedi passé, donc je suis actuellement dans la belle ville de Lyon, afin d’aller rejoindre des amis français. Un gros merci d’ailleurs pour l’accueil et l’hébergement!!!
J’utilise régulièrement (comme vous pouvez le constater assez facilement sur les clichés) les vélos communautaires. Ce sont les 3 euros les mieux investis du voyage à date, ça c’est certain!

Hi everyone!

Paris is now in the past…  I took the train last saturday, so I am now in beautiful Lyon, visiting some friends.  By the way, thanks to them for the welcoming and the lodging. I frequently use community bicycles (as you can see on the pictures). For only 3 euros, it’s the best investment of the trip, that’s for sure!

Hier, je suis allée skater deux bowls sur le bord du Rhône. C’était magnifique!!

Yesterday, I went skating 2 bowls by the Rhône river. It’s was amazing!!

Finalement, nous sommes allés manger dans un bouchon lyonnais. Si vous voulez savoir ce que c’est vraiment, il faut y aller! C’est un peu comme nos cabanes à sucre à nous si je peux dire.
Demain, je prend le train en direction de Milan! On se retrouve bientôt pour un nouveau post!!

Finaly, we went out eating in a bouchon lyonnais. If you want to know what it is, you need to try it! I would say it’s kinda like our “sugar shack”.

Voici la 2ème partie de ma halte à Paris.
Comme prévue, j’ai fait l’entrevue pour la télé française (Elloha, qui se décrit comme “le 1er mag de glisse au féminin”) et ce fut vachement bien! (haha!) L’équipe de tournage était sympathique et je crois que ça s’est bien passé.  Nous avons tourné l’épisode au Palais de Tokyo, un spot assez connu de Paris.

So here’s part 2 of my trip to Paris.
As scheduled, I did an interview for a French tv show (Elloha, described as the “first extreme sport mag for girls”) and it was really fun! The crew was very nice and I think it went well. We filmed the episode at Palais de Tokyo, a famous parisian spot.

Juste avant, j’étais allée skater un cadran solaire en forme de quarterpipe! Vraiment hot, mais nous nous sommes fait avertir assez rapidement, malheureusement. J’ai seulement eu 2 try!!!

Right before, I went skating a sundial shaped like a quarterpipe!  So sick, but we unfortunately got kicked out really quick.   I only had 2 trys!!!

C’était notre seule journée de skate. Après une journée bien remplie, on s’est gâté en se payant un bon repas, contrairement à notre habitude d’une moyenne de 4 euros par repas, bouteille de vin inclue!!!

It was my only skate day.  At night, I rewarded myself by buying a very good meal (a lot more expensive than my usual food budget of 4 euros per meal, wine included!!!)

Sinon, je marche beaucoup et je visite toujours autant! En 6 jours, je peux dire que j’ai vu une bonne partie de ce qu’il y a à voir à Paris! Mais c’est une ville tellement condensée et riche en intérêts que c’est impossible de tout apercevoir en une semaine.
Là, je vais terminer mes bagages parce que je prend le train pour Lyon dans quelques heures! À bientôt!

Other than that, I still walk and do tourism a lot.  In 6 days, I can say I’ve seen most of what I wanted to see in Paris!  But this city is so condensed and rich in interests, it’s impossible to see it all in only one week.
I have to go pack my things now because I’m hopping on a train to Lyon in a few hours! Talk to you soon!
