La tournée Crossing Boarders s’est terminée à Malmö avec une compétition internationale féminine intitulée GET, SET, GO! Des filles de la Grande-Bretagne, des États-Unis, du Danemark, du Canada, du Mexique (allô Renata!) et de plusieurs régions de la Suède se sont déplacées afin de venir y exposer leur talent. La compétition a eu lieu dans le fameux skateparc de Malmö, en parallèle avec le Ultra Bowl II, une coupe du monde de “bowl”. Félicitations à Kevin Kowalski pour avoir remporté la première place!

Crossing Boarders tour ended up in Malmö with an all girls international contest entitled GET, SET, GO! Girls from Great-Britain, USA, Denmark, Canada, Mexico (Hi Renata!!) and from all over Sweden attended the event to show what they’ve got! The contest took place in Malmö’s famous concrete park, the same weekend as the Ultra Bowl II, an international bowl contest. By the way, contratulations to Kevin Kowalski for winning first place!

En ce qui a trait à la compétition de filles, c’est Annie Guglia qui a remporté la première place! Elle s’est mérité un beau chèque et une guitare! Bravo matante!!! Voici les résultats des finales:

Aujourd’hui, Éloïse est venue les chercher dans son tout nouveau Westafalia et les a emmenées au Belvédère, un famous skate spot situé sur le Mont-Royal. La vue est tout simplement spectaculaire là-haut et Sarah ne pouvait pas repartir sans aller y essayer quelques trucs. Voici quelques photos qu’elle a prises cet après-midi. Elle a aussi filmé de petites choses qui nous ont inspiré un court montage. Merci pour les images Sarah, et j’espère que tu as apprécié ton séjour!

Crossing Boarders Tour being over (well, at least for the Canadian part), Sarah Meurle is already leaving Montréal tomorrow after spending a few days at my place along with Caroline Farrell. Today, Éloïse came to pick them up in her brand new Westfalia and drove them to Belvedere, a famous montreal skate spot located on top of Mont-Royal. The view is totally awesome up there and Sarah couldn’t leave the city without at least trying a few tricks. Here are a few pics that she took. She also filmed a couple of things, which inspired a short montage. Thanks for the flicks Sarah, and hope you enjoyed your stay in Montréal!

C’est tellement excitant! Sarah Meurle est arrivée de New York ce matin mais alors que j’écris ces quelques lignes, le reste du groupe de No Limit est sur l’avion, traversant l’océan entre la Suède et le Canada. Nous les accueilleront en fin d’après-midi, à l’aéroport de Montréal. Youpi!

After months of hard work (planning the itinerary, raising funds through many sponsorships, organizing a benefit auction & a car wash), we’re finally packing and getting ready to hop on the bus this after noon for the Crossing Boarders Tour. Sooooooooo exciting! Sarah Meurle arrived from New York this morning but as I am writing those lines, the other girls from No Limit are still on the plane, crossing borders from Sweden to Canada. We will be welcoming them by the end of the after-noon at Montreal airport. Can’t wait!

Thanks to everyone who came by Jean Guglia & Fils to get their car washed this after-noon!  I don’t know if it’s because most of the girls were wearing a bikini top but most of our costumers were mans…  Fortunately fort us, the sun was also part of the gang, as you can see in the picture gallery! Once again, thanks to all.  All we have to do now is packing our stuff for the Crossing Boarders Tour that will be starting in less than 48 hours!  Woohoo!!!

Lors de notre dernier arrêt pour la tournée Crossing Boarders en Suède, Malmö, quelques unes des Skirtboarders participerons à la compétition internationale Get Set Go !!! Notre arrêt dans cette magnifique ville nous permettra aussi de profiter du festival qui se déroule dans l’ensemble des rues de la ville avec une fête foraine, des kiosques de produits locaux, des shows gratuits, des démos de mini-rampe et des feux d’artifices. Un méga festival comme on en trouve à Montréal mais dispatché à travers la ville :) J’me demande s’il y aura d’autres skateuses canadiennes, américaines ou européennes qui se joindrons à nous?!?!?

It is not a coincidence that Crossing Boarders’s Swedish tour ends in Malmö on the exact same date as GET SET GO, an international skateboard competition! Some Skirtboarders will obviously attend it! And we’ll have the opportunity to enjoy Malmöfestivalen, a huge festival taking place on the same date with a fun fair, booths selling locals products, mini-ramp demos and fireworks. If you know the Montréal Festival, it’s almost the same, except you spread it all over the city!
I really hope other girl skaters from Canada, USA and Europe will come to this competition and have fun with us! Wink wink!!!

Vous pouvez allez voir mon ancienne chronique sur le festival de Malmö lorsque l’année dernière j’y étais, j’ai pu profité d’un démo de mini-rampe avec le crew Tösabidarna, des bonbons et du show The Sounds, mmmm!!! J’ai hâte d’y être encore mais cette fois-ci avec les Skirtboarders EN PLUS!!!

Oh yeah! After a few months of collective work between No Limit & Skirtboarders, our mega tour project finally embodies!  Summer 2010: 2 weeks in Canada, 2 weeks in Sweden!

Qui aurait cru que l’idée qui avait été lancée lors de notre premier post au sujet des suédoises allait devenir réalité? Pas moi en tout cas… Il reste encore plusieurs détails à fignoler quant à cette double tournée mais sachez que nous allons vous tenir au courant et fur et à mesure des développements. J’en profite du même coup pour souhaiter un joyeux anniversaire à Elysha Bastien, notre joueuse de S.K.A.T.E. nationale, qu’on peut d’ailleurs apercevoir au tout début du clip. Même si on a pas pu célébrer tes 25 ans avec toi, on ne t’oublie pas Lili!

Here’s a short clip of the qualifications for the Asiplanchaba game of S.K.A.T.E. that was held last Saturday at Plaza de Sants in Barcelona. I use this opportunity to wish a Happy Birthday to Elysha Bastien, our favourite S.K.A.T.E. player, who we can see at the beginning of the clip.  Although we weren’t able to elebrate your 25th birthday with you, we don’t forget you Lili!
