Les 11, 12 et 13 Mai dernier, quelques membres en règle des Skirtboarders ont fait acte de présence dans la ville de Lewiston pour inaugurer leur tout nouveau park municipal. Le “Cultural Center of Lewiston Public Library” ayant tout orchestré, notre présence en ville était attendue non seulement par les skaters locaux mais surtout par une panoplie de gens de toutes sortes, incluant quelques franco-américains. Au programme: présentation du film au département d’art du Bates College, conférences, 2 démos et 2 présentations de notre film. Wow! Fin de semaine presque trop chargée me direz-vous mais Ô combien stimulante! Nous avons eu droit à un accueil des plus chaleureux (commandite de pizza, BBQ en notre honneur, hébergement sympathique, party sur un vrai campus américain et plein de nouveaux amis s’ajoutant à notre liste myspace!) Même les médias locaux se sont intéressé au phénomène. Vous pourrez bientôt visionner le topo de notre fin de semaine au Island Str33t Chaud” sur les ondes de 33mag.tv, en ligne dès le 1er juin.

A few members of the Skirtboarders went to Lewiston on may 11, 12 and 13 to inaugurate their brand new municipal park. Organized by the Cultural Center of Lewiston Public Library, the event attracted not only local skaters but also a bunch of people of all sort including franco-americans. On the schedule: video presentation at Bates College department of art followed by a conference, 2 demos and 2 presentations of our video. Wow! Weekend almost too busy but how stimulating! We had one of the most welcoming reception (pizza sponsorship, BBQ in our honor, sympatic lodging, party on a real American College Campus and tons of new myspace friends!) Even the local medias were interested by the phenomenon. You’ll soon be able to watch a short documentary about our trip to Lewiston on the “Island Str33 Chaud” (online on june 1rst - 33mag.tv)
